I don’t even know where to begin with this amazing woman. She is a daughter, sister, mother and friend. But the story behind this beautiful woman is heartbreaking, but what makes her remarkable is how strong she is despite all she has been through. May 4, 2017, Jennifer tragically lost her beautiful 18 year old daughter Brittany and first grand baby due to gun violence . In March 2018, Jennifer fought to get a bill passed that would allow prosecutors to charge a person who kills a fetus in any stage of development while committing another crime. Bill 203 was passed and went in to effect July 2018. Ninety one days after she tragically lost her daughter she lost her son. Jennifer opened a non-profit maternity home called Hope for Peanut in honor of her beautiful daughter and grand baby. She helps young pregnant moms reach their full potential by providing them with necessities to care for their babies, and gives them the support they may need to either finish school or find work. This mother has taken a tragedy and turned it into Hope. The hope to change lives in honor of Brittany. Jennifer is beyond remarkable; her strength and perseverance to give back and reach out to these young mothers is truly remarkable. When you look at Jennifer and hear her story from her herself and then you see the changes she is making you will see how remarkable she is. With all she has gone through, she still stands tall, making a change not only in her community but so many young mothers. This woman means so much to me, I will never be able to repay her or thank her for all she has done for me. I see her as a mother figure. She helped me get to where I am today and better myself while seeing things from a different perspective. I will never be able to express how much she means to me. She has had an amazing impact on so many lives, mine being one of them.
